Property Description
Where history, architecture, and home come together! Originally built in 1873 as Grace Springtown Church, this extraordinary property served its community for generations before being thoughtfully converted into a private residence around 2000. Today, the former church offers a rare opportunity to own a home that is anything but ordinary—where soaring spaces, original architectural character, and beautiful stained-glass windows provide a backdrop that simply cannot be recreated.
At the heart of the home is an impressive open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area, creating one expansive space for everyday living and entertaining. The church’s original design lends a wonderful sense of volume and character, while its conversion provides the comfort and functionality of a modern home. Perhaps the one of the most memorable feature is the elevated former altar, now transformed into a dramatic focal point framed by stained glass. Imagine a grand piano here, a spectacular Christmas tree during the holidays, a favorite art collection, or a beautifully designed sitting area—the possibilities for showcasing this special space are endless.
Don't miss the original bell in the entryway...what a great conversation piece as guests enter your home!
Overlooking the main living area, an amazing loft serves as the primary bedroom, creating a private retreat that takes full advantage of the home’s dramatic architecture. It’s an unexpected and memorable space that perfectly complements the character of this one-of-a-kind residence. With three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, the home offers plenty of room for both everyday living and overnight guests.
And just when you think you’ve seen everything this home has to offer, head downstairs. The lower level reveals an impressive, cozy speakeasy-style bar, providing an intimate setting for cocktails, conversation, game nights, or entertaining friends. It’s the perfect contrast to the soaring openness above—dramatic and grand upstairs, warm and tucked away below.
From the distinctive steeple and brick exterior to the stained glass, original church bell, the former altar, lofted primary suite, and hidden-away speakeasy atmosphere downstairs, nearly every corner offers something unexpected. This isn’t simply a converted church—it is a home with more than 150 years of history, personality, and a story all its own. It's also zoned village commercial, so bring your ideas and create a business in this impressive space!
Grace Springtown Church has already lived several remarkable chapters. The next one could be yours.
